SOMA is looking for a SOMIAM Coordinator and Animator: Are you passionate about healthy cooking and eager to inspire young people to adopt nutritious eating habits? Do you have experience managing orders, organizing events, and enjoying interactions with children? Our SOMIAM space is seeking a dedicated coordinator to lead the area and culinary activities, bringing joy and delicious learning to children (and adults, too).
Main Responsibilities:
- Organize and manage orders: Oversee and coordinate all orders and supplies necessary for SOMIAM activities, including camps, birthdays, and public/private events.
- Plan and facilitate SOMIAM workshops: Design and lead engaging, hands-on cooking workshops focused on healthy cooking for children, sharing a passion for nutritious food.
- Kitchen maintenance and cleanliness: Responsible for the upkeep of all kitchen appliances, regular cleaning of refrigerators, and the overall cleanliness of the SOMIAM space.
- Manage food surplus: Collaborate with local organizations to sustainably manage food surplus and support community initiatives.
- Customer interaction: Ensure smooth communication with clients regarding their specific needs for events, food requests, and personalized details.
- Prepare and organize events: Set up the SOMIAM space to be welcoming, well-stocked, and effectively prepared for each workshop or event.
- Be present at SOMIAM during after-school activities: Welcome and assist parents visiting the SOMIAM space for coworking or waiting while their children participate in activities.
- Assist at the Café & Barista: Barista training is a plus, as some tasks may include preparing coffee and other beverages for parents and guests.
- Prepare meals and snacks during holiday camps.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Passion for healthy cooking: A deep love for culinary arts, especially healthy and child-friendly recipes, with the ability to inspire and motivate young children.
- Organizational skills: Strong attention to detail for managing supplies, orders, and event logistics to ensure smooth operations.
- Languages: Proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written (Dutch is a plus).
- Interpersonal skills: Ability to connect with children and encourage them to explore cooking in a fun and educational way.
- Barista training (a plus): Previous experience in a café or barista training is an asset.
- Commitment to sustainability: Interest in reducing food waste and collaborating with organizations to manage surplus.
